I love the jerky. It’s hot, spicy, and tough, but this time I had a piece that was moldy. Before I even opened the package I could see the white mold. I did check to see if it was some kind of preserve stuff but no it was mold. That was the only piece but I was unsure if the rest was any good and safe to eat so not feeling good about it I tossed the whole bag. I had more bags so it wasn’t a total loss. Why was it moldy???
After searching the universe of the internet, I finally found the jerky I've been looking for! Bone Dry, Large sheets, Jaw working, Good OLe Fashioned beef jerky. Not the strange greasy moist "stuff" that has a strange aftertaste, and leaves a gross film coated in your mouth..(YuK!)
I wont be getting it from anywhere else. :)
PS!:... Not a BoT review either :)
The Texas style jerky is what I consider beef jerky. You have to chew on it a little bit. I know some folks prefer the softer jerky, and there’s no doubt that it’s good. I just prefer the Texas style. I ordered the garlic and it’s phenomenal. Since then I ordered some of the California brisket and California bacon. It’s also very good but a softer, easier chew.
Can’t wait for the Texas style to be back in stock because I need to try some other flavors!
This stuff is great, if you like old-school jerky that is dry and tough and yummy this is as good as I've found in a long time. It seems expensive, but when you get the pound you realize it's a good bit of meat. If you don't like dry tough jerky don't buy texas style.
Texas Style jerky was too dry, too hard to chew and too thin, and not moist at all. Did not finish eating the entire 1 lb bag. Will have to try other flavors and leave this one alone.
The hot spicy seasoning was decent, though.
