Our original Teriyaki beef jerky recipe generates a moist and  Sweet product. These thick slices of tender beef are packed with the delicious combination of teriyaki and soy sauces. Some may say it's an essential component in all field MRE packs, (military acronym for meals ready to eat). Soldiers have been using MRE since the Revolutionary War and in those days they limited their rations to only one day's worth of food. Since then, with each new action of war, the content and form of MRE's have modified. Soldiers fighting the Civil War carried tinned food, but the weight of the cans was cumbersome and by WWI, the cans were replaced with lightweight preserved meats. The dried preserved meats (jerky) allowed them to carry more rations in the fields. Survivalists/Hunters and even boy scouts have jumped on the jerky bandwagon as well; keeping plenty of foods such as jerky stashed in cupboards for that "rainy" day. Be prepared... order NOW!
